Dear Parents and Students:
It is my distinct honor as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs of Angelo State University in Texas to invite you to join in this outstanding academic partnership. We have many agreements with international universities and institutions, but our relationship with YBM is intended to create the YBM/ASU Global Preparation Program between our two institutions. By participating in this program, you will benefit from the best in American educational experiences, which will open many opportunities for you after graduation.

Angelo State University is one of thirty-seven public universities in Texas, offers a range of degree programs and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Our classes are taught by professors with the highest academic credentials from the finest universities in the United States. Their focus is on teaching excellence, which is accomplished in modern classrooms with the latest technology. Many of our faculty are leaders in their academic disciplines and have been awarded many prestigious honors. For these and many other reasons, Angelo State University was selected for the 13th straight year by The Princeton Review as one of the ¡°Best 387 Colleges¡± in the United States.

Other outstanding recognition and awards include being named a 2020-21 ¡°College of Distinction¡± and ¡°Equity and Inclusion College of Distinction¡± by the Colleges of Distinction guide to higher education. Additionally, the ASU Houston Harte University Center was named one of the 25 Most Amazing Student Union Centers in the U.S. by CollegeRank.net, and our residence halls have been recognized as being the best at a public university in Texas by Niche.com.

Angelo State University also provides an exceptional support system for its students. Our beautiful campus has over eight hundred faculty and staff members whose primary job is to make our students feel welcome. Students live in modern dormitories on campus, participate in many recreational and sports activities, and are involved in numerous clubs and honorary societies. Also, we manage many initiatives, including a buddy program, English Conversation Partners program, and International Students Association, to help our international students adjust to studying in an American university.

Finally, this partnership will have special benefits to participating students. Students selected for the program will pay instate tuition until graduation, which is greatly reduced when compared to costs normally charged to international students. In addition, after one academic year, students who have completed at least 30 credit hours with at least a 3.0 GPA will automatically qualify for the Carr Earn-In Scholarships that range from $1,000 & $2,000 and are renewable for up to three years.

Most importantly, this partnership is dedicated to your success as a student and later as a graduate. We believe that it offers you an exceptional opportunity to prepare for your future in a rapidly changing world, and I hope to personally welcome you to campus in Texas in the near future.
Brian May, Ph.D. President Angelo State University
